Traditionally used for menopausal symptoms, spasmodic dysmenorrhoea, premenstrual syndrome, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, in preparation for labour

Contraindications ~ Contraindicated during pregnancy (except in the last few weeks to assist birth). Controversial in breast cancer.
